...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...
Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
East Fork White River at Columbus.
Flatrock River near Columbus.
East Fork White River at Seymour.
Big Blue River at Shelbyville.
East Fork White River near Rivervale.
.Minor flooding will continue along the East Fork White River. The
initial crest is near Columbus and Seymour as of last Saturday
morning and should reach Rivervale around Tuesday. Additional
rainfall more than an inch in these basins could increase the
crests. Moderate flooding continues on the Big Blue at Shelbyville
but crest has occurred and the river is falling there.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
* WHEN...Until late Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 13.2 feet, Lowland flooding in progress along
Driftwood River in northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011.
Double Y Saddle Club area flooded. At least 6 inches of water
flowing over CR 950N to Club. Water is less than one foot away
from CR 330W just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR
500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to
residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is open
but ramp is totally flooded. Water close to one residence at
Shelby CR 1000S and CR 900W.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:30 AM EDT Saturday was 11.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.9
feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage late Tuesday morning.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Cabins begin to flood south of Tellman
Road. Mill Race Park floods. Lowland flooding begins. State Road
11 between Southern Crossing and CR 550 S is closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 9.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM EDT Saturday was 9.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.4
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage tomorrow evening.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour.
* WHEN...Until Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Flooding becomes more extensive. Although
this level is fairly frequent, many local and state roads flood.
Seymour gravel pit begins to flood. Livestock and equipment must
be relocated to higher ground. High water surrounds river
residences near Rockford. CR 760 E south of river gaging station
is impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 16.9 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM EDT Saturday was 17.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Thursday morning and continue falling and remain below
flood stage.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Big Blue River at Shelbyville.
* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 16.3 feet, Extensive flooding occurring along Big
Blue River. Several residences in Shelbyville had water in their
yards on March 6, 2011. One day later extensive flooding at mile
marker 82.5 in the Edinburgh area. Several homes along Sugar
Creek were evacuated when the level peaked at nine ft on the New
Palestine gage one day earlier.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM EDT Saturday was 16.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

AUGUST 22...
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River near Rivervale.
* WHEN...From Sunday evening to Saturday, August 22.
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, A few local county roads begin to flood
and are impassable. These include Buddha Road south of the gage
and Lawrenceport Road. All local roads across the East Fork White
River are threatened by high water, and some are closed. Flooding
of agricultural lands in Lawrence County is in progress.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 13.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow evening to a crest of 21.8 feet early Tuesday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday,
August 22.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
