...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Big Blue River at Shelbyville.
East Fork White River at Columbus.
Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...
East Fork White River at Seymour.
Flatrock River near Columbus.
Muscatatuck River at Vernon.
.Major river flooding is expected. Heavy rainfall of three to eight
or more inches will bring major flooding to area waterways,
including the Big Blue River at Shelbyville. Other areas such as the
Driftwood near Edinburgh and the Flatrock River at Columbus should
expect moderate river flooding as well. At the current time, further
downstream locations on the East Fork White can expect minor lowland
flooding, but may approach moderate levels.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 6:45 PM EDT Wednesday was 13.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.6
feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage
Friday afternoon.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Sandbagging of a few homes near the
Muscatatuck River in the Vernon area during March 2008 high water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 24.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 6:30 PM EDT Wednesday was 24.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 25.0 feet this evening. It
will then fall below flood stage late tonight to 4.5 feet
Friday morning. It will rise to 5.7 feet early Saturday
morning. It will then fall again and remain below flood
stage.

NOTICE...
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour.
* WHEN...From late tonight until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Flooding becomes more extensive. Although
this level is fairly frequent, many local and state roads flood.
Seymour gravel pit begins to flood. Livestock and equipment must
be relocated to higher ground. High water surrounds river
residences near Rockford. CR 760 E south of river gaging station
is impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 8.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall to 6.0 feet this evening. It
will then rise above flood stage late tonight to 16.3 feet
early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall to 15.4 feet early
Friday afternoon. It will then rise to 16.9 feet early Sunday
morning. It will fall again but remain above flood stage.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 12.5 feet, SR 11 north of CR 200 S flooded. This
occurs about once every 1 to 2 years.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:00 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 1.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow evening to a crest of 12.5 feet Friday evening.
It will then fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
* WHEN...From Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 14.9 feet, Extensive flooding along Driftwood River
in northern Bartholomew County on March 7, 2011. Double Y Saddle
Club area extensively flooded. Water flowing over CR 950N to Club.
CR 330W is flooded just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge
Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access
to residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is
completely flooded. Water very near several residences and
seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 5.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow evening to a crest of 14.9 feet early Saturday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday
morning.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
