...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...

  White River at Anderson.

  White River at Muncie.

  White River below Eagle Valley Power Plant.

  White River near Centerton.

  White River at Elliston.

  White River at Spencer.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/ind.

The next statement should be issued by 1100 AM.late tonight by
around 200 AM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
  This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...White River at Anderson.

* WHEN...Until late Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Record flood is in progress.  Northeast
  and northwest portions of Anderson are under water.  Water is
  several feet deep in residential, commercial, and municipal
  areas.  SRs 109, 32, 9 and I-69 could be the only roads open over
  the White River.  Many roads are impassable.  Bridges may also be
  impassable or not safe for traffic.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 24.9 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 4:30 AM EDT Friday was 24.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late Sunday evening and continue falling and remain below
    flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Muncie.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Flooding begins in four to five block area
  of southeast Muncie near 16th St and S Burlington Dr and in
  Smithfield.  County roads and farmland flood.  Water level reaches
  critical stage for levees protecting the Muncie Water Treatment
  Plant.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 13.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 4:30 AM EDT Friday was 18.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    this evening and continue falling and remain below flood
    stage.
  - Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River below Eagle Valley Power Plant.

* WHEN...From late tonight to Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 607.0 feet, Extensive flooding of agricultural
  lands.  Blue Bluff and Paragon Roads are impassable.  Flood waters
  affect a few homes in Waverly.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - There is no current observed data.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening to a crest of 606.7 feet early Monday afternoon.
    It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 603.0 feet.

* WHERE...White River near Centerton.

* WHEN...From late tonight until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 15.3 feet, Extensive flooding of agricultural lands.
  Blue Bluff and Paragon Roads are impassable. Flood waters affect a
  few homes in Waverly.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:00 AM EDT Friday the stage was 8.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage just after
    midnight tonight to 15.1 feet early Monday morning. It will
    then fall Monday morning. It will rise to 15.1 feet early
    Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late
    Tuesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Elliston.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon to Sunday, August 23.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, State Road 157 between Worthington and
  Bloomfield begins to flood.  County Road 175 south of Bloomfield
  floods.  County Road 100 W between CR 110 N and SR 67 (Jefferson
  Twp), CR 850 N between SR 48 and SR 157 (Jefferson Twp), CR 250 W
  between SR 54 and CR 250 N (Fairplay Twp), CR 200 W between CR 157
  S and CR 260 S (Washington Twp), CR 100 W between CR 100 S and CR
  260 S (Washington Twp), and CR 100 W between CR 250 W and the
  White River affected by high water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - There is no current observed data.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 23.9 feet early
    Thursday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
    Friday, August 21.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

AUGUST 22...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Spencer.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening to Saturday, August 22.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Road south of river gage begins to flood.
  Gosport Road closes. Extensive agricultural flooding is in
  progress. Moon Road in very rural northwest Monroe County is
  extensively flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 9.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tomorrow evening to a crest of 19.5 feet early Wednesday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
