Flood Statement

National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL

1035 PM EDT Thu Oct 8 2026

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in

Florida...

Cypress Creek At SR 54 Worthington Gardens affecting Pasco County.

Little Manatee River At Wimauma at US 301 affecting Hillsborough

  County.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida...

Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Marion, Citrus and Levy

  Counties.

.Due to recent heavy rainfall, water levels on Cypress Creek and

Little Manatee River are expected to continue rising and reach Flood

Stage.

Elevated water levels continue on the Withlacoochee River at

Dunnellon due to a combination of excessive hydrilla growth along a

4.5 mile stretch of river between U.S. 41 and Lake Rousseau, and

recent heavy rainfall. Water levels are expected to hold steady

before slowly decreasing over the next several days. However, the

river is forecast to remain in flood stage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars

through flooded areas.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued Friday morning at 1115 AM EDT.
