Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County.
Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.
These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Des Plaines River from IL/WI state line downstream to US-41
in Gurnee, including the Russell gauge.
* WHEN...Until late Saturday night.
* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Agricultural and park land is inundated near
the river. Residential property is threatened near the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 8.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected remain near 8.7 feet tonight
then gradually fall Tuesday morning. It will then fall below
flood stage Saturday evening.
- Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Des Plaines River from US-41 in Gurnee downstream to
Townline Road in Vernon Hills, including the Gurnee gauge.
* WHEN...From Tuesday morning to late Friday night.
* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Forest land inundated near the river in
Gurnee.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 6.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Tuesday morning to a crest of 8.0 feet Wednesday night. It will
then fall below flood stage Friday night.
- Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
