Weather Radar Pro — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Weather Radar Pro is built on the same principle as the rest of WeatherAI™: we provide weather radar, forecasts, and alerts without tracking you. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not follow you around the internet. This policy covers the Weather Radar Pro mobile app and explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information. (The WeatherAI™ website Privacy Policy covers our website separately.)

The short version

  • We do not track users. No advertising trackers, no cross-app profiling, no selling or sharing of personal data.
  • Location is used only to deliver weather. The app uses your location to show radar, forecasts, and the alerts relevant to where you are.
  • Push notifications are opt-in. If — and only if — you turn on push notifications, we store the small amount of data needed to send them to you (see below).
  • You stay in control. You can turn notifications off, and change or clear what we store, at any time.

Information the app uses

To draw radar and return a forecast, the app needs to know where you are or where you want to look. That location can come from:

  • A place name, ZIP code, or coordinates you enter; or
  • Your device's location, if and only if you grant the app location permission.

We use this location data exclusively to provide the services you request — radar, current conditions, forecasts, air quality, and weather alerts for that area. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the weather information you asked for.

Push notifications

Push notifications are entirely optional. If you enable them, in order to deliver relevant weather warnings to your device we store:

  • Your location. We store your location so we can determine which weather warnings are relevant to you and only notify you about those. This location is stored together with your notification token so warnings can be matched to where you are.
  • Your push notification token. This is the anonymous device identifier issued by the platform's push service (for example, Apple Push Notification service). We store it so that alerts can be delivered to your device through the Apple App Store / platform push servers. It is used solely to route notifications and does not identify you personally.
  • Your notification preferences. We store which types of alerts you want to receive — for example Tornado, Thunderstorm, Flood, Tropical, Winter, Heat, Wind, Marine, Fire, and Air Quality — so we only send the notifications you asked for.
  • Your tropical cyclone basin preferences. We store which basins you want tropical notifications for — Atlantic, Eastern Pacific (EPAC), Central Pacific (CPAC), Western Pacific (WPAC), Indian Ocean, and the Southern Hemisphere (SH).

This information is stored only to operate the notification service — to decide whether a given warning is relevant to you and to deliver it to your device. It is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is not sold or shared. If you disable push notifications, this data is no longer needed and can be removed.

What we store

Outside of push notifications, Weather Radar Pro does not maintain user accounts and does not store a history of your activity. The data described in the Push notifications section above is the extent of what we retain, and only when you have enabled notifications. We do not connect that data to advertising identities or use it to profile you.

What we do not do

  • We do not track you across apps, sites, or sessions.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
  • We do not build or maintain advertising or behavioral profiles.
  • We do not retain a personal history of your location beyond what's described above for notifications.

Your choices and control

Location access and push notifications are both optional and are controlled by you through the app's settings and your device's operating-system permissions. You can:

  • Use radar and forecasts without granting location access by entering a location manually;
  • Turn push notifications on or off at any time;
  • Change which alert types and tropical basins you receive notifications for; and
  • Revoke location or notification permission at any time in your device settings, which stops us from storing that data going forward.

Third-party data sources and platforms

Radar, forecasts, alerts, and satellite imagery are derived from public and licensed meteorological sources, including the U.S. National Weather Service and NOAA. Delivering push notifications necessarily involves the platform's push service (such as Apple Push Notification service), which routes the notification to your device using your push token. Loading map, radar, and satellite imagery involves requests to those data providers to display the imagery.

Children's privacy

Weather Radar Pro is a general-audience weather app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
