Official Bulletin

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet and dangerous rip
currents expected in the surf zone.

* WHERE...North and east facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, from 10 PM this evening to
4 PM ChST Saturday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through
Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Long-period east to northeast swell,
emanating from distant Typhoon Dolphin, continues to produce a
high risk of rip currents along east-facing reefs, spreading to
north-facing reefs beginning tonight, with hazardous surf also
expected to develop along north and east-facing reefs tonight.
As Dolphin passes the far northern CNMI, the long-period swell
direction is expected to shift north over the next few days, and
then northwest around midweek. As it does so, a high risk of
rip currents, and hazardous surf, is expected to develop along
west facing reefs later this week.

Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.

Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip
current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If
able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
