...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM AKDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Yentna River including Lake Creek.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM AKDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 348 PM AKDT, The river gauge at the Yentna River at Lake
Creek indicates rises in water levels from heavy rain across
the warned area. Flooding is ongoing. Trees and debris larger
than telephone poles have been observed flowing down the
river. Between 1.0 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible
with higher amounts possible in the upper Yentna Basin.
- For Yentna River at Lake Creek:
At 7:51am the stage was 20.7 feet.
Flood Stage is 20.5 feet.
Forecast: A crest slightly above 22 feet late tonight and
into early Wednesday morning.
Impacts:
Between 21 and 22 feet, several lodges may have water in or
around low-lying cabins.
