...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of western Maryland, including the following
  county, Garrett.

* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated
  with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for
  all the water from these storms to work through local drainage
  systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 526 AM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    Ememrgency management reports an ongoing water resuce in the
    vicinity of the Casselman River and Bittinger Road. Several
    homes have also been reported to have flooded basements
    between Grantsville and Bittinger. due to thunderstorms.
    Flooding is already occurring. Between 1.5 and 4.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
