Flood Statement
National Weather Service Indianapolis IN
101 AM EDT Sat Aug 15 2026

...The Flood Warning continues or is extended for the following
rivers in Indiana and Illinois...

Wabash River from Lafayette to Riverton.

  Tippecanoe River near Delphi.

  Wildcat Creek at Kokomo.

  Wildcat Creek near Jerome.

  Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.

  Mississinewa River near Ridgeville.

.Significant rainfall over the past 3 to 4 days has resulted in
minor to moderate flooding along portions of the East Fork White
River and associated tributaries in north central and western
Indiana. Additional rain is possible at times through the weekend.
Please stay advised of the latest forecasts and conditions through
the weekend into next week, especially those who live near waterways
or other flood prone areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/ind.

The next statement should be issued this afternoon by around 415 PM
EDT /315 PM CDT/.
