Walnut River at Winfield affecting Cowley and Butler Counties.
Walnut River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Expect flooding of low-lying areas and
agricultural flooding.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 14.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this afternoon to a crest of 23.5 feet this afternoon. It
will then fall below flood stage this evening.
- Flood stage is 23.0 feet.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, West 14th Avenue near the fairgrounds,
floods from the river on eastward to the levee.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 6.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 28.0 feet early Sunday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday
morning.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

MORNING...
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Walnut River at Arkansas City.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning to late Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Considerable flooding of farmland is
expected. Widespread flooding of the park just upstream of the
gage site is anticipated. East Chestnut Avenue east of By-pass is
closed due to water over roadway. Greens Farm Road floods between
Highway 166 north to Dunbar Hill.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 10.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning to a crest of 20.0 feet early Sunday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday
evening.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
