* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Butler County in south central Kansas...
  Northern Cowley County in south central Kansas...
  Northeastern Sumner County in south central Kansas...
  Elk County in southeastern Kansas...
  Southwestern Greenwood County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 415 AM CDT.

* At 1214 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Winfield, Mulvane, Belle Plaine, Oxford, Udall, Leon, Howard,
  Burden, Moline, Severy, Grenola, Atlanta, Latham, Elk Falls, Rock,
  Cambridge, Climax, Beaumont, Winfield City Lake and Piedmont.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
