...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR WICHITA, ANDOVER, HAYSVILLE, MULVANE,
AND DERBY...

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Butler County in south central Kansas...
  Southeastern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas...

* Until 400 AM CDT.

* At 1151 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Wichita, Andover, Haysville,
  Mulvane, and Derby. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
  SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
           HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
           low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Bel Aire, Mulvane, Rose Hill,
  Maize, Douglass, Downtown Wichita, Eastborough, Mcconnell Air
  Force Base, South Wichita, East Wichita, Northeast Wichita,
  Eisenhower National Airport, West Wichita, Oaklawn, Jabara Airport
  and Augusta Municipal Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
