...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kansas, including
  the following counties, in south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley,
  Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Chautauqua, Elk,
  Greenwood, Wilson and Woodson.

* WHEN...Until 315 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1113 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    slow-moving thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to
    begin shortly in the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Derby, Winfield, Mulvane, Neodesha, Fredonia, Douglass, Belle
    Plaine, Yates Center, Oxford, Udall, Howard, Burden, Altoona,
    Moline, Longton, Toronto, Severy, Buffalo, Grenola and
    Atlanta.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
