...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Kansas, including the following counties,
Gove, Graham, Norton and Sheridan and southwest Nebraska,
including the following county, Red Willow.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and
rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and
could flood with more heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Incoming heavy to torrential rainfall is forecast to lead to
the potential for a few more inches of rainfall through the
morning hours along with the potential for additional
rainfall overnight. Due to already saturated soils and high
creeks and streams flooding may continue to pose a threat to
life and property.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
